“If you want to be happy, you have to want to see others happy too.”
How many times have you felt happy to see someone else happy? We hope that many times, and even more, we hope that you are not just thinking about the people you love. The truth is that while our own happiness is important, as well as the happiness of our loved ones, being happy to see others happy (whoever they are) should be our highest priority. If you want to achieve the highest level of happiness, there is nothing like learning to be happy by seeing another happy person.
Be happy making and seeing others happy
Happiness has long been defined as that emotion, feeling or sentiment produced by some achievement or goal reached. However, this does not necessarily have to be the case. Happiness can very well be defined as that emotion, sensation or feeling implicit in our lives that allows us to live pleasantly and fully, regardless of the circumstances and/or factors that surround us. However, such happiness can fluctuate from higher to lower depending on our mood and negative perception of things.
It is important to analyze what are the things that make our level of happiness decrease drastically in order to act accordingly and thus avoid a depressive state at a given time. But it is also important to note that we can not be very happy all the time, because our brain continuously secretes a number of chemicals that sometimes result in a sudden drop in hormones, such as dopamine, a hormone related largely to happiness.
This means that even if you had no reason to feel sad, your brain might well play tricks on you. But, there’s nothing that a good diet and a good night’s sleep won’t allow your dopamine levels to be at their peak so that you can enjoy a high level of happiness.
However, there is an easier and quicker way to achieve absolute happiness and that is by taking care of helping others to be happy whenever possible. Seeing another person happy should be reason enough for you to be happy too, and if that person’s happiness was achieved by something you did, even more so.
As human beings, we have to try to always be empathetic and kind, but also, we have to learn to value and love each other. Yes, it is difficult to do that in these times where mistrust, arguments, banality and materialism have gained so much ground. However, only our good actions can lead to a better quality of life.
Being happy is our main task, so it is important that you strive to achieve everything you want and feel you need. But, as long as you never seek to transgress the will or desire and even the well-being of others (including your own). Most importantly, remember that happiness lies within you and that it can be intensified if, instead of thinking only about yourself, you spend some time helping others to be happy, or at least feeling happy about the accomplishments and happiness of others around you.
