Essential characteristics in highly sensitive people (PAS)
The American psychologist Elaine Aron studied for a long time people with introversion traits, during her research she discovered a condition she described as: High sensitivity. Following her finding Aron wrote a book called: The highly sensitive person, in this work she explains the characteristics of highly sensitive people (PSA) and states that one in five people have this personality.
PSAs are capable of experiencing emotions with greater intensity, are intuitive, sensitive to light, loud sounds and smells, enjoy being alone and can feel the suffering of others as their own. These people experience love in a more complex way than others.
So how can we maintain a relationship with a person who doesn’t feel the same way as we do? How can we balance the relationship? Here are 5 tips to help you answer all these questions.
1. Prioritize love for yourself
The mechanics of society often clothe and make PSAs feel abnormal. It is important to work on their self-esteem so that they can maintain a relationship. The main thing is to accept that this condition is not a disease, it is a way of being.
Accepting who we are with love and respect is the basis of solid relationships, you can feel lucky because high sensitivity makes you express yourself with the heart. Free yourself from suffering and accept yourself in all your fullness, valuing all your positive faculties.
2. Accept that others feel differently
Highly sensitive people are often frustrated because their partners do not have the same perspective as them. They may feel that there is no love because the looks and details are not the same, however this does not mean that they love you less, remember that you experience love differently because your emotions are always on the surface.
Trust in the sincerity of love and accept that we do not all have the same capacity to perceive every detail.
3. Learn to manage negative emotions
A disappointment for a PAS can lead directly to depression. Just as they experience love and compassion in an intense way, they also experience suffering. Don’t let adversity overwhelm you, understand that life has its ups and downs to learn from. Make intelligent use of your emotions, be resilient.
4. Use your ability to be alone
Highly sensitive people enjoy their solitude, love to read, listen to music and know how to make sense of little things. The advantage of having a high sensitivity is that you do not depend on other people and therefore you can choose carefully with whom you will have a long term relationship that will bring you happiness, do not cling to the mistakes of the past.
5. Think that love by your side will always be worthwhile
Love with a highly sensitive person is an incredible experience worth living. His qualities for romance are unique, he knows no lies and no betrayals. If you are highly sensitive always open the doors to love, you have much to offer and a disappointment does not define the rest of your life.
