Tips for having confident children
As parents we have to give our children the greatest security so that they can feel safe in a world that is ultimately becoming more and more complex. But sometimes this task is not easy. However, you can help a little by following some practical tips.
How our children grow up will depend solely on us as parents. It is true that as they grow up they will make their own decisions, but it is we who lay the foundation for optimal development, one that will allow them to live confidently. Children who grow up confident in who they are enjoy life more, and risk new and better experiences that will transform them by gaining much deeper insights. But, to do this it is important to be clear about some aspects that are definitely key to achieving this.
Let them do things for themselves
It is important that you train the autonomy of your children from the time they are small. You can do this by letting them do certain things completely on their own. Don’t worry about what they might dirty and break, most things can be washed or replaced. Allow them to fall and teach them to stand up again. And of course, despite the falls, encourage them to try again.
Teach him perseverance
From victories you do not learn much but from defeats you can extract a lot of knowledge. These are things you must teach your child, and from there you must instill perseverance in his life. Don’t let him give up, but instead encourage him to try harder to reach the goal. Teach him that there are things that only require a little more strength but that everything is achieved with perseverance in the end.
Let it grow
We know that we like to treat our children like babies, even when they are adults. This is wrong, your children should have independence, allow them to have space to learn to eat on their own no matter if you have to pick up what they drop on the floor later. Make them feel that you are proud and happy every time they learn to do something without having to come to you.
Give them responsibility
No matter how small the responsibilities are for you, they will be crucial to your child’s character development. When he plays, have him pick up his toys, keep his room tidy. Give him simple tasks and increase the intensity according to the result of the other tasks he has been given. All of this will certainly build his character.
Prepare him to face the bad day
We have all known the bad days, they are few, but they make us forget for a moment the enormous amount of good days we have had. Your children must learn that bad days exist, that they will not always be on the good ones and that they must take the best attitude towards the worst situation in order to grow and move forward in life. It’s not easy but it’s your duty as a parent to protect them.
