Steps to be happy according to the Hindus
We all wish to be happy but very few of us are prepared to have the maturity necessary to achieve it. If you believe you can achieve it, we invite you to reflect on these seven steps that can certainly change your life forever.
Be happy in seven steps
According to the Hindus, there was only one man who was happy in an ancient kingdom. This kingdom was full of rich people, although none managed to enjoy what they had, because the more they had, the more they wanted. For this reason, they spent their days doing business in order to make their fortunes bigger.
Of course there were also many poor inhabitants, who represented the other face of this kingdom, they were not happy either because they spent their days daydreaming about having everything that the rich had.
One day, a rumor began to be heard about a man who was completely happy, the rumor became so big that everyone was attracted to him. This man was suspiciously guarding a chest that was said to contain the secret of happiness. Many rich people came to him wanting to buy the chest but he refused to sell it. The poor, on the other hand, begged to be given it, but he refused. Some even tried to steal it from him but were unable to do so.
As the days went by, a child appeared who approached him with total innocence and told him that he wanted to be happy too. The man was moved and decided to share the wisdom of his chest with him. He told him that happiness was like a seven-step ladder. Each step required an apprenticeship in order to keep moving forward to achieve happiness. These steps are:
Cultivate your self-esteem
We are neither more nor less than anyone else, our virtues and defects tell a unique story of our life. Every day we must give value to our life by cultivating our love for ourselves, taking care of our health and our physical integrity. The key is to value and love ourselves for who we are.
Power
This world is very competitive, when we do not compete against others, we compete against ourselves seeking to improve ourselves and to be better and better. The problem is that many times when we don’t get what we want we end up getting frustrated and depressed. The best thing is to focus on making our actions consistent with our words. And of course, with what we think. If we think we can do something we just do it, but if we can’t, we just let it go without feeling guilty about anything.
Avoid envy
We cannot live thinking about the achievements of others, nor can we be willing to have what others have. All this only leads us down a path of bitterness that will not benefit us in any way. Always mind your own business.
Forget about the grudge
When we suffer some kind of evil we end up feeling resentment towards the one who caused it. This eventually turns into anger and later into hate. Hate pollutes our soul and leaves us happy. Don’t waste your time suffering for what others have done to you, think that the universe has its own logic so it will take care in time to do justice.
Don’t take what’s not yours
This applies not only to the material but also to the spiritual. If you take what is not yours, later you will be deprived of something that will have much more value than what you took.
Eliminate everything that damages your life
By this we mean toxic people. Any person or even anything that in any way causes you any harm must be removed from your life.
Be grateful for every day of your life
Life is very beautiful, much more than we can imagine, so it is important to value it. Every day remember to give thanks for your life, be more generous, cultivate peace in your heart, and whatever time you are destined to be in this world you will be happier and happier.
