Even the strongest heart needs comfort: No one is made of iron!
No matter how old you are or how strong your character is, at some point in your life you will need to comfort yourself, let off steam, let your emotions out and even cry. With this reflection we want to tell you that feeling that way is completely normal.
Who hasn’t heard of the expression “no one is made of iron”? Most of us want to be strong all the time, independent, full of pride and self-respect; we even prepare to cultivate those qualities. However, we do not consider ourselves to be sentient beings. We forget that we are made of flesh and blood, mere mortals, loaded with emotions and small natural needs.
Comfort is very important for happiness and the development of the brain, which is why we receive it as babies in the form of caresses. So, no matter your age, size or how much testosterone you have, we all need to express our feelings, fears and pains from time to time.
Even the strongest heart gets tired
When we grow up we usually believe that adults or men do not cry, that we must be strong and brave to overcome obstacles and never be afraid. However, life teaches us that the strongest are not those who do not feel restlessness, but those who are still afraid to move forward hand in hand with their loved ones.
A good lap and affection are natural medicines to cure the fatigue of the soul. Do not be so withdrawn, allow yourself to receive affection and arms from people who love you, from a grandmother, a grandfather, a mother, a father, a friend, cousins, siblings and loves. Do not be afraid or ashamed if you think you are in need, deep down we all are.
Don’t be afraid to expose your feelings to people you trust. Accept your friends’ pampering, and don’t forget to reciprocate, especially to our grandparents, who are more vulnerable and love sweetness. Be tender from time to time and make no mistake: the one who seems to be self-sufficient and shows himself to be the “strong all the time” type is, in fact, the neediest.
You’re not made of iron. Even iron itself needs a little hand so it doesn’t rust and deteriorate.
There are little luxuries and pleasures that you should not refuse: a coffee to talk, a hug to feel warm and a shoulder to cry on. Be strong, confident, balanced, fight and work hard, but don’t forget that you deserve a hand. Lack of affection will rust the body and wrinkle the face.
We hope that you will find in this reflection words of encouragement and the confirmation that every heart, from time to time, deserves a rest. Find relief in your loved ones and discover what mutual support is. Ask your family and friends for time and love today.
