The changes that come with taking care of yourself
When we decide to embark on the path to self-fulfilment and spiritual calmness, sometimes we find it extremely distressing. There are many things that we experience that making peace with ourselves and with what is around us seems an impossible mission.
Those who have had to go through painful situations have almost always risked their comfort and overcome their emotional and personal stagnation, being able to find calm at the least expected moment.
Perhaps in an unconscious way our inner struggle was crystallizing into imperceptible achievements, but on accumulating all these, they gave marvelous fruits. Those who have fought to improve themselves realize that the best way to achieve well-being is to know how to take care of oneself and that requires a series of decisions that balance what we want and don’t want in our lives.
Listen to yourself, instead of just listening to what others say about you:
The worst thing you can do is to expect constant approval from others; your personality will never be integrated into a whole but will be a construction of old imposed ideas of you. Knowing how to listen to yourself, losing yourself where others say it is not worth going and finding yourself at the end of it all with the most authentic piece of you, keeping it and deciding to take it with you, that is a triumph!
To get away from everything that is not beautiful, useful and fun:
If you are not able to give yourself to the pleasures of life you should ask yourself then what is life and who or what has made me believe that I was wrong or right. If you are able to enjoy life you can make the people around you enjoy it too.
You don’t have to sacrifice yourself for anything or anyone, fighting for what you want and what you want is a pleasure:
Today’s world has imposed on us the idea that everything worthwhile implies sacrifice, but that word conveys anguish. We must replace it with constancy or tenacity. The best things in life are endowed with a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant concentration, working for something you like is called passion.
Instead, people have opted for continuous sacrifice, for the assumption of social dogmas, for pushing aside the unknown because they believe it is dangerous. These are people with a grey, dull aura with frowns and forked tongues.
That in love sometimes you have to lose your pride, but never your dignity:
When you follow rules and don’t let your feelings carry you away, your heart and mind get hurt and your soul gets imprisoned. You must leave that way so mediocre to love and feel although sometimes you take blows. There is nothing worse in the world than being afraid to experience a feeling as exciting as love. There is no worse wound than the one that makes you feel the emptiness of not daring anything.
That you must take care of those who love you and eliminate from your life anyone who has inflicted intentional harm on you:
Life gives you a limited time to enjoy it, don’t waste one more second of your thoughts and time trying to understand why some people hurt you with their indifference, humiliated you or betrayed you. Get rid of these absurd and useless tasks and you will see how resentment disappears and your life will begin to be filled with everything that makes you happy, all those people who even with difficulties on the road will never use evil on you.
