One of my strengths is that I think positively in the most complicated moments.
Maybe I’ve always had a super power and I didn’t realize it: it’s optimism.
Optimism is the ability to think positively when situations become complicated, the strength to move forward when everyone becomes discouraged, the drive not to give up and not to be overwhelmed by all the negatives.
The optimist knows that problems are part of life, that no one is perfectly happy for not having problems, that there is always a setback, fair or unfair, that turns life upside down when everything seems to be going well. But he also understands that naturally, after a long night, there comes a dawn with a sun of justice, just as after a storm, there comes a splendid rainbow to give a new beginning. That’s why the optimist never gives up.
Positive thinking has sometimes helped me get out of trouble faster. Other times, the problem gets so out of hand that I can’t really do anything about it, but at least when I’m optimistic, I suffer less in the process.
This is what life is all about, learning to suffer as little as possible, having faith and maintaining the peace that surpasses all understanding. I know that many problems are consequences of my actions or omissions, so it is important to take time to reflect; but so many problems, I do not even know where they come from or why they touch me. But if I can learn from all these problems, I will surely be more understood and therefore happier.
When you think you’re a winner, when you think you’re a champion, surely life will take you down a peg. Because the foundation of happiness is also in humility. If you reflect on this enough, you will see in every problem an opportunity to learn and you will learn to suffer less and have more peace.
If you’ve felt beaten up enough in the last few days, and you feel less strong, think that you have a lot to learn from your whole current situation, which may seem fair or unfair to you, but it happens in your life for a reason. Get the learning and you will see how everything passes faster or becomes more bearable.
If you’re worried about what to eat or what to drink, maybe you need a little faith. If you’re worried about being at home and can’t bear to spend time with your loved ones because there are so many rough spots, maybe it’s time to smooth them over. If you feel purposeless because you are not working, perhaps you should readjust your perspective and understand that you were too distracted from your work, for our purpose is definitely not to come into this world to work.
We optimists firmly believe that everything has a reason to be and that if we understand that reason, what happens to us can finally bring us a lot of good. Think about the problem you are currently going through, what do you think came to disorder or reveal about you? Get to work and work to improve.
