Blessed are those who try to raise people’s self-esteem
Blessed are those who always try to raise the self-esteem of others, without envy, sarcasm or bad intentions. This only reflects that they have found happiness with themselves and that they do not need to subtract from anyone to feel good.
Recognizing virtues in oneself is a challenge, but recognizing them in others can be even more difficult. Especially since we often recognize the good in others out of envy. But the purest act of love is to pay a sincere, eloquent and kind compliment.
It’s easy to have weakened self-esteem now that standards of perfection are absolute and even rare. At work, at school, at home, etc. Everyone has expectations of us, and even we have quite demanding and even unrealistic expectations of ourselves. Loving yourself as you are and improving yourself to be better and better is difficult.
We would all like to have the figure of such a celebrity, the brain of such a person, the smile of a model, the perfect boyfriend or girlfriend, the dream job, and in short, a combination of many things. But if we really got everything we think would make us perfect, we might just end up being something like Frankenstein’s monster. We can’t build ourselves up as a layperson, because in the same way we would disarm ourselves without essence, but we can grow, improve ourselves and love ourselves organically like flowers.
Only when that has happened within us and we are growing, then we can help others, also build them up organically with words and loving gestures.
Where do the actual compliments come from?
From real people who have learned to love and respect themselves. These people know how valuable they are and, being able to see you as their peer, they can see all that is good, kind and just in you. That way, with words and actions they nurture your self-esteem as well as theirs. People who say real compliments to others often know how to say them to themselves, thus building their self-esteem.
Therefore, blessed (three times blessed) are those who say real compliments, those who are not afraid to recognize the virtues of others, those who strive to help others recognize their own esteem, for they have learned to love each other so much and have grown so much in the process, that they need not belittle or devalue anyone.
The world is full of people who want to push others, who want to outshine those around them to shine more. These people are so far from themselves that they do not know how to love and respect each other. Because when you have true self-esteem, you don’t have to slow down anyone to consider yourself valuable and important.
That is why those who always try to raise the self-esteem of others are blessed, because they are only reflecting the wealth that abounds in their hearts. Their minds are free and their hearts are completely healthy.
