Silence is the wisest answer we can give to fools
In this time, when talking seems to be the most important thing and we have so many means to do it, there is beauty in the few silences.
As a rule of thumb, you’re not just surrounded by good people who wish you well. On the contrary, in your circle there is more than one negative person who for some reason wishes you ill. And when someone bothers or hurts you, the first reaction is to strike back, but from today you should practice the precious silence.
Because when we grow up we understand that when it comes to ignorant people, the best thing we can do is not to look for arguments or any kind of revenge, but to keep silent. The intention of the fool is to destabilize with his foolishness, and when you think of a type of revenge, it has already achieved its goal, because it has disturbed your inner peace.
If you consider a person to be simply ignorant, why should they have any influence on your emotional or mental state? Concentrate your energy on your goals, your objectives, on the people you want to love. It is not worth wasting your time with silly things and ignorant people.
This is a valuable message to learn. Father Fabio de Melo shares:
“In many moments of life, silence is the wisest answer we can give to anyone. Therefore, prepare well the word that will be spoken.
Hasty words don’t match wisdom. The wise prefer silence. And in its few words it is an inexhaustible source of condensed wisdom.
Don’t be tempted by banal speech or simplistic explanations.
Please, the depth of the discourse that asks us to calm down. Calm to say, calm to listen. Today, in this time of many words, we want the beauty of the few silences.
Don’t say things in a hurry. Better the right silence than the wrong word. Take time for what you need to say.
Get rid of the rush to give orders to the world. It’s easier for us to regret a word than a silence.
The wrong word, at the wrong time, can become a wound for the one who said it, and also for the one who heard it.
In many moments of life, silence is the wisest answer we can give to anyone.
Silence is the only answer we should give to fools. Because where ignorance speaks, intelligence does not guess.
Father Fabio de Melo.
What the priest teaches is that we must preserve ourselves, put aside unnecessary words and take advantage of silence. Because silence allows you not to waste energy, but to manage it for what is really important and will transform your life.
The Bible also says “Do not give the pearls to the swine”, in allusion to the fact that knowledge should not be wasted on the foolish, those who do not want to understand. Whenever it is necessary, keep the valuable knowledge to yourself and share that treasure only with the wise, with the rest, be silent.
