Many people would rather travel the world than get married
If you think happiness is in marriage, think twice. For many people, travel is more pleasant than getting married, which is why we see more and more singles and those who choose to dedicate themselves to getting to know the world. But now science confirms what many already knew: traveling is much better than getting married!
Marriage is many people’s dream. To take the final step, to make the union official in a ceremony carefully done and with the presence of all the important people in our life is a great privilege. Without a doubt, there are many people who are preparing for this moment from a very young age.
However, the reality of marriages can be very different from what we imagine. Routine, differences in thinking, behavior, and mistakes, even having different goals can make married life much more challenging than we are used to seeing in romantic movies. For this reason, more and more people choose to be alone and get to know themselves before they think about committing to someone.
As is normal, the priorities of single people are very different from the priorities of those who are with someone. Single people have time for themselves and dedicate themselves to what brings them happiness. One of those things is traveling and having many adventures, which they plan without worrying about anyone else. They go to their favorite destinations and enjoy things as they please.
Science explains it
A survey of 17,000 people conducted by Booking in 2016 showed that, for 51% of respondents, travel brings more happiness than the “dream marriage. According to the study, 75% of the people said that the best alternative to achieve more happiness in their lives is: to travel. Although some have passed since that research, there is no reason to think things are different now.
On the other hand, Shawn Achor, one of the world’s leading experts on happiness, author and speaker at the NY Times, known for his advocacy of positive psychology, explained why travel is so meaningful to us:
“In a world where time and money are worth a lot, travelers want a return on investment more valuable than their time or money.

Travel provides us with more significant benefits than those obtained from material goods, for example: memories. Revealing! Right?
We can lose our possessions at any time, but they can never rob us of the good memories of all that we lived and all the ways that our life has been transformed. So, travel will make you much happier. Of course, we can always add more people to our adventures, as a couple and children.
We’re open to debate. Do you think travel is better than marriage? Do you agree? Leave us your opinion and don’t forget to share the results of this research with all your travelling friends.
