Few things in life are more revealing than tiredness
No one gets tired overnight. The symptoms of emotional fatigue are usually: insomnia, physical and mental fatigue, irritability, lack of desire, low resistance to disease, among others. And we only get tired when we have fought too much without seeing results.
Being tired may seem like a negative thing in the first place, but in certain circumstances, being tired is a great privilege. When tiredness strikes our eyes, they open to a new life and what was once important no longer exists.
When you’re not tired, a word, a request or a plea makes you move, stress out and move on with what you think is important. But when you get tired, none of that matters, you simply learn to love yourself, to see life with different eyes and understand that neither work, nor family, nor love deserve more quality time than you do.
When we’re tired, there are no more schedules and no more “I love you”. Nothing comforts you or drives you to continue with what is wearing you out. In short: being tired is a cry for mental freedom.
You can’t swim against the current all your life
The body gets tired and the mind asks for help. When those around you or the person you love is abusive, silent and neglectful it is normal to get tired. Giving up is not only cowardly, when you have self-respect you often give up many things. You have probably heard the phrase: “fight for your dreams, don’t give up”, but if fighting for a dream, for a love or for a job wears you out, keeps you awake, tears your heart apart and even takes away your will to live, which is more important: the dream or yourself?
Not all dreams and all loves lead to happiness because you can’t swim against the current all your life. For example, if a relationship is based on toxic feelings and behaviors, and the tendency is for things to get worse every day, why should it get better? No matter how much you love the person, you will get tired, and nothing is more revealing than this.
Tiredness allows us to understand that true love is not selfish, is not offensive and is not indolent. Love begins in yourself and then becomes reciprocal. According to the novelist and philosopher Albert Camus, “man has two faces: he cannot love anyone unless he loves himself”.
Therefore, if you are tired and the symptoms of fatigue persist, take action. Get out of your comfort zone and take a stand on the facts. Keep in mind that illnesses resulting from emotional fatigue cannot be cured until the causes are (definitely) resolved.
Friend reader, the journey of life is one, do not exhaust your existence without need. If you are tired, what generates this fatigue? Take distance and allow yourself to love yourself.
