Things to remember when you think you’re not enough
There are days when we wake up with no energy, no spirit and no matter how hard you try you don’t achieve your goals, you feel like you’re in a race where the road is endless and you’re fading away, you can’t hold on. You look at yourself in the mirror and you don’t think you are capable, you give up and this discomfort becomes unbearable every day.
This is how we usually feel when we do not feel enough, when the things we do and say stop making sense, when looking at ourselves and recognizing ourselves becomes an impossible mission. You simply don’t believe you are worthy of the good things that happen to you and you don’t believe you are worthy enough to achieve your desires.
Low self-esteem is related to this type of negative thinking “I’m not good enough. Everyone at some point has gone through this, we have stopped trusting ourselves, punishing ourselves and even though we may be aware of these thoughts we still fall for them.
Insecurity can be so great that it can interrupt and limit your personal growth. It is a disabling feeling and can be recurrent. You may even have people close to you tell you that you are not capable and that you can do better.
But certainly these messages speak more of the person than you and it is a mistake in which we fall because what others say will not define us or determine our future only we decide, just remember that if you are enough. It sounds very easy but all this takes a process of inner work, wounds that we must heal and release everything that hurts us.
This entails being responsible for our actions, acknowledging that which has harmed us and the situations that have made us think that we are not enough, but it is not a matter of doing so with anger or resentment but of understanding in order to let go of forgiveness and to forgive ourselves.
So, when you feel negative and you feel that you are not enough, remember these 8 things:
1. The first and most important step is to start with you, feed your self-esteem, work on your self-esteem, respect and value yourself. Don’t forget that everything begins with you, not with what others think, do or say.
2. Remember that each person is unique. Don’t compare yourself, each person is building his or her own path.
3. The place and time you are now is necessary, because that is exactly how you will get to where you want to go tomorrow.
4. Difficult situations always teach us something important, even if you don’t see it right now. Even suffering and pain have a purpose in our life, this allows us to grow and move forward. It is your choice to exchange your worries for acceptance or your regrets for lessons.
5. You will always have in your hands the choice whether to face your difficulties from bitterness or to do it from tranquility and peace. You choose how to face each one of the situations that you live.
6. Don’t get ahead of yourself. This only makes you anxious, instead of worrying, direct all your energy to deal with what is happening.
7. Don’t overdo it. In short, there are situations and things that we cannot change. What you do have control over is your life and there will always be something you can do because you are enough. Go ahead and take small steps to achieve your goals. Remember that these are achieved with action and firmness.
8. You’re bigger and stronger than your problems. Maybe you haven’t made much progress or you’re not where you want to be, but the important thing is that you keep going, remembering all that you have progressed, instead of remembering all that you still have to do. Be happy about your small achievements and recognize how wonderful you are.
Remember, you’re enough…
